Let’s Make Packing Simple

We are getting ready to move into a new home very soon.  We have been so busy packing and sorting things I thought I would share with you, just how I have kept it simple in all the chaos!

Get Organized. Easier said than done, I know. I live in my own organized disaster where I know where something is, even if it is  under papers, boxes or clothes. One way to help me get organized is to have a box ready for donations, a bag for garbage and a box for stuff you may want to sell at a yard sale site, your own yard sale or at a consignment shop.

Get your supplies ready. Now when I say get your supplies ready, everyone’s supply necessities may be different. I will list a few basics. For me it is necessary to have all the boxes I need ready to go in my garage (My husband even put them all together so that I can just grab and pack when the baby is asleep).  Tape. More tape and even more tape just in case. You can use one of those hand held tape guns, or just a roll of tape. A big black sharpie to write on the boxes. Scissors. Packing bubbles and/or newspaper. Labeling your boxes is key, this early on.

Pack away. I start packing our off season items first. For instance, winter coats were packed away the first day of May. I then proceeded to pack away knick knacks and books, followed by DVD’s, CD’s and other items I knew we weren’t going to use anytime soon. I have only had to go into one box to grab my rolling pin!

Storage is necessary. You won’t necessarily have to go out and rent a storage space, for me I have been using half of my garage to store all my packed up boxes. This way, I pack and move it along, out of my way.

Host a Garage Sale or Donate. At this point, when you have sorted through everything you want to get rid of, host your garage sale or donate the items earlier, rather than at the last minute. This way, you earn some extra cash and you free up your valuable space, along with having less clutter.

That’s pretty much what I’ve been doing now for over a month! We are now down to the last few items in our freezer and just trying to keep everything clean before our move!

Summer Fab Fit Fun Box Has Arrived!

EEEKKKK!!! I’m so excited for the Summer 2017 Fab Fit Fun box! I love being a member of Fab Fit Fun, they really have so much to offer to their members! I signed up for a year of service and that gave me select access, which means I get to customize my seasonal box, just enough to make it fit my needs but still provide some surprises! I also get access to Fab Fit Fun TV which offers workouts, recipes and DIY tutorials.

The Summer edition is my 2nd box from Fab Fit Fun and I love it! I was able to choose a few items to customize and make my Summer edition box perfect for me, one of the choices was which color BKR bottle I prefer, between Romeo and Rosy, I chose Rosy! IF you don’t have BKR bottle, you are missing out!

Rosy bkr bottle

I won’t leave the house without one! They hold up to 500 mL of water and are easy to refill. BKR is made of glass with a sleek silicone cover to protect it, so when I toss it in my bag, it is safe!

I was able to choose if I wanted something travel related, artistic or chef inspired or I could choose “Surprise Me”. I of course chose the chef inspiration, due to the love I have for cooking and I received the Himalayan Pink Salt Kit. Honestly, this is something I would not have picked up on my own, but I’m excited to try in my new kitchen soon!

Another option I got to choose, was which color Ruana by Michael Stars I wanted in my box, I chose the blue printed one, since I normally choose black for my clothing. I figured to add some blue in would be my “pop” of color this season! (Ha!) I’ve watched the handy video Fab Fit Fun has on the different ways to wear this thing…..I felt kind of weird trying it on as a scarf, so I think just as a cover up for my swimsuit or even over a tank and short outfit will suffice.

I was able to choose a fitness surprise or a beauty surprise. I knew hey would include some beauty options so I wanted to see what the “Fitness” surprise was. I’m not disappointed whatsoever. They included a Soothe and Cool Massage Oil to help after a workout! Since my body has been aching with ANY fitness I do, this is perfect. It smells lovely too!

The last option I got to choose was what color stone necklace by Kris Nations I wanted, and at this point I still wanted some surprise in the box, so I chose “SURPRISE ME!” and I love the color stone necklace they sent me. I received the Peach Moonstone, which is very delicate. I don’t wear much jewelry these days, with the little one grabbing everything she can, so I will save this for a special night out.

Other items included in the Summer edition are just perfect for summer! Juice Beauty is a great line of facial creams and I love the moisturizer I have, so I’m super excited to try the Smoothing Eye Concentrate on my dark circles! Cargo Cosmetics HD Picture Perfect Highlighter in Bronze was included, this is something I would never purchase myself but really want to try it! I also received an Ultra Light Hydrating Sunscreen Lotion with SPF 50 by Eau Thermale Avène, which is perfect for poolside in this Arizona sun! The box also comes with a handy paper, that lists all the products, their retail value and how to use some of the things that were sent!

Bottom line, the 2017 Summer Edition of the Fab Fit Fun box is perfect for anyone wanting to gift themselves a subscription box that gifts tons of exciting products! It will keep you stylish, healthy and with GREAT looking skin!

All opinions expressed are my own, I am a member of Fab Fit Fun who has no affiliation with the company, other than someone who loves her subscription box!

Frankie’s South Philly Cheesesteaks (Tucson, AZ)

Any reason not to cook and try something amazing, and to do it for a lunch date with my husband, I’m all for it! We have so many amazing restaurants to choose from in Tucson, sometime’s I just have to trust him and let him pick what we are going to go eat, since he actually gets to venture out more than I do.

My husband recommended Frankie’s South Philly Cheesesteaks and of course I agreed, but since I can’t eat dairy, while breast feeding my little one, I figured I would end up getting a plain salad, since a Philly Cheese Steak without cheese just seemed so boring. When I walked into Frankie’s South Philly Cheesesteaks, it smelt like heaven! The aromas of steak and peppers is so exciting to me.

Let me just say, a Philly Cheesesteak sans the cheese was not boring at all. I decided to try a 9 inch Plain Steak on a delicious Amoroso Roll, loaded with both, sweet and hot roasted peppers. It was absolutely delicious! The steak is so flavorful and rich tasting, the peppers just enhance it to the next level.

Plain Steak with Peppers

Even though I was so full from the 9 inch sub, I wanted more, just because it tasted so good. The steak is aged certified angus beef and that amoroso roll is so fresh, fluffy and warm straight from Philly! I seriously cannot wait to eat here again.

For those who love cheese, this is the place to be! My husband ordered the cheesesteak with WHIZ and hot peppers, it was just oozing with cheese! (I don’t know why I didn’t take a picture, my bad) BUT you can get your cheesesteak with WHIZ, American or provolone cheese as well. My hubs also ordered onion rings, which are just as delicious as the subs, I snuck a few and would recommend them to anyone wanting a savory side. I wonder what the steak and cheese would taste like on them……

You can order your steak on a roll, on a plate, on a hoagie, on a salad and even on a pizza! If you have someone with you who doesn’t like Philly Cheesesteaks, before ending your friendship, they can eat here as well! Frankie’s offers Hoagies, Pork, Chicken, Chicken Cutlets, Vegetarian options, Salads, Cod, and even have a kids menu for kids 14 and under. Yes, 14 year olds, and younger. I find that awesome, because sometimes you have that 14 year old who is picky AF and you just want to enjoy something delicious! I’m excited to take our 12 year old here, so she can try something new while we devour more Philly Cheesesteaks!

Frankie’s has a cozy atmosphere to sit in. They what appears to be 3 dinning rooms in the restaurant, my husband and I chose the back room, since we had our teething baby girl with us, and just in case she lost her shit, we were somewhat away from the majority of the crowd. The staff was so friendly, the cashier recognized my husband from when he would visit with co-workers. I’m assuming he has gone more than he has mentioned…..which I totally get the food is amazing!

If you are in Tucson, AZ, check out Frankie’s South Philly Cheesesteaks, 2574 N. Campbell. (They even deliver with a $10 minimum and a small delivery charge!)

All opinions are my own, check them out for yourself and let me know what you think!

Seventh Generation New Baby Sample Kit

I love all things Seventh Generation. Some products more than others, but I’m in absolute love with the new Seventh Generation Coconut Care collection they have baby!

We have purchased their diapers since our little one was born, which we absolutely love! The diapers are chemical free, chlorine free, fragrance free. No lotions are added to the diapers to make them appear soft, they just are soft. I love how durable they are. There is nothing like a leaky diaper in the middle of the night to wake up baby (or the whole house for that matter). We’ve also have dealt with a few “blow outs” while traveling, yet these diapers don’t let a THING out! It’s amazing. It’s almost like they are magic. A magic leak proof diaper. I also love how these diapers pull away the wetness. That is just amazing, how my daughter’s skin isn’t damp when she pees in a Seventh Generation diaper. Again, magic….

I love the Seventh Generation Free & Clear Baby wipes. They are so sturdy, I don’t have to worry about getting ANYTHING on my hands when I use these. I have tried other baby wipes, per a recommendation of a friend and I totally regret purchasing those wipes in bulk, because I ended up wasting them. I would have to use 10 wipes to clean a poopy diaper, compared to one or two of the Seventh Generation Free & Clear Baby wipes. My sample kit provided me two wipes, in a sample pouch and I just love them. Seriously best baby wipe on the  market! You can order your’s on Amazon Prime, which makes life so much more simple!

The Coconut Care collection is wonderful and we were eager to try it out! It is complete with Shampoo, Lotion and Diaper cream. All of the Coconut Care Collection products are made with organic coconut oil, USDA certified Biobased, cruelty free products and pediatrician tested for your little one’s use. I love how gentle the products are on my little girls skin, I think these are great for a babies delicate fresh skin. The Coconut Care products do have a slight coconut scent. The lotion is easy to apply, it has a very smooth consistency. We do love the shampoo, my only complaint on that is the pump does not pop back up after each pump, so I have to manually do that. The diaper cream is a little oily, but that helps protect from any diaper rash! We have been using it for 3 of our daughter’s 4 months of life and she has not had a diaper rash!

I received the following items for free in my New Baby Welcome Kit:

  • 2 Free & Clear Size 2 Seventh Generation Diapers
  • Free & Clear Sample of Seventh Generation Baby Wipes
  • Seventh Generation Coconut Care Lotion
  • Coupons for a discount on full size products

We received a Seventh Generation New Baby Sample Kit for free, for the purpose of my review. All opinions expressed are 100% my own.

Saying Goodbye to Elementary School

Today was a BIG day in our family. My oldest, SJ, has completed 6th grade in Elementary School and was promoted onto Middle School.

We celebrated with her at school, where she received a promotion certificate and a Citizen of the Quarter award. I’m proud of her, mostly because she has dreaded 6th grade, was barely passing her math class and finally brought that grade up! She worked hard, with lots of tears, frustrated attitudes and regular tween attitude.

SJ also had a huge life change middle of the year, she lost the title of “only child” in January and then soon after that found out she was going to be getting another sibling on her dad’s side of the family. Followed by her stepdad (my husband), transferring jobs which is resulting into another move this summer. But she has handled it all like a champ.

I’m so excited for her to trek new grounds but nervous for her as well. She doesn’t make friends the easiest, has reservations about approaching others  but I hope she blooms. I hope she shines in the next couple years of middle school. We hope the 2017/2018 school year will be great!

The Noggle

I don’t know if you have heard of this ingenious invention, The Noggle. It is absolutely the greatest thing ever, if you don’t have AC vents in your back seat.

I had put this on our baby registry, while I was pregnant, even though my husband said we didn’t need one for the SUV. Oh but we do. I know being in the backseat is dreadful if there aren’t any air vents, however to be facing the other way, blocked by a car seat would be even worse. Especially since it is “Summer Weather” 9 out of the 12 months in Southern Arizona.

We went to a few different stores in Tucson, looking for The Noggle. It was such a popular item, however most places don’t carry it in store, but online. Look, it was 95 degrees outside, we needed this in order to survive at this point. We finally found it at a boutique baby store, paid for it and installed it in the parking lot. I could feel cold air in the back seat finally while sitting next to the baby in the car seat. We had it pointed towards her, but I was reaping the benefits too. Needless to say, we made it home calmly.

I chose the 6 foot Noggle, they also come in an 8 foot option. We felt this would work best for our family, if you are to purchase look at the difference to see what is best for you and yours. We can now enjoy our Summer road trips with a cooler car for everyone!

Just so you don’t have to drive all around town this summer looking for The Noggle, I have included a link to order one on Amazon!
