Laundry is a constant in my life. I’m either separating it, washing it, rotating it into the dryer, restarting the dryer on “wrinkle free” for the 10th time, folding it, hanging it and then the whole damn cycle starts again. It’s something that is absolutely unavoidable with two kids and a husband who works outside most days.
However, when it comes to choosing my laundry soap, I have to avoid certain products. My daughters and I have sensitive skin, so we need a laundry soap that is free of perfumes, dyes and chemicals that will irritate our skin. I normally choose a well known free & clear laundry soap, that is suited for sensitive skin. I recently sampled Seventh Generation’s Free & Clear liquid laundry detergent and I love it!
I was worried I was going to need to throw away some of my daughter’s clothing, due to a really bad stain. Money down the drain, in my eyes. With an hour pre-soak in Seventh Generation Free & Clear liquid laundry detergent, regular wash, the article of clothing was saved! I’m so relieved!
Kids are messy, but you need a laundry soap that is hard on stains and gentle on their sensitive skin. I love that Seventh Generation is a plant based product, free of unnecessary chemicals, perfumes and dyes. Seventh Generation Free & Clear Liquid Laundry Detergent is cruelty free, USDA Certified Biobased, Kosher & Gluten Free. It is perfect for our sensitive skin and is hypoallergenic. You are able to use it in your standard washing machine or HE machine.
I also love that I can pick it up almost everywhere! Check it out for yourself and let me know what you think!

A product that will soften our clothes, cut drying time down and it’s safe to use on our sensitive skin? Sign me up! Molly’s Suds Wool Dryer Balls are all those things and I decided I had to try them for myself.
I ordered them from The Grove Collaborative subscription service, formally ePantry, and a few days later they were at my front door. Every weekend, we have 7 to 10 loads of laundry to do, it normally takes me all day long to them. I figured, hey let’s try these and see if they actually work at cutting the drying time down.
First load of laundry in the washer were all our jeans. About 8 pairs to wash and dry. These are normally the longest to dry it seems. However, with the Molly’s Suds Wool Dryer Balls the jeans were dry in under 30 minutes. The typical dryer setting starts at 42 minutes on my dryer and sometimes that doesn’t seem long enough. The jeans were dry and ready to be folded. The jeans came out super soft, dry and I didn’t use any chemicals to get them to feel that soft. That is a pretty amazing deal in my eyes and a win for me and the environment.

The opinion on Molly’s Suds Wool Dryer Balls is my own. I purchased the product on my own to use for the purpose of this blog!!
Somedays we are drowning in laundry in our house. I’m always looking for natural products to use to conquer this massive task of washing and drying my family’s laundry each week. Recently I took a chance on using Seventh Generation Natural Fabric Softener Sheets. Prior to this, I did not use any type of fabric softener sheets, I wasn’t happy with what I could find at my local stores so I just opted out.
Since I started using these with each load, our clothes are not full of static and they appear softer. I love that these fabric sheets are not full of chemicals and are safe to use on all our clothes. As with most products I purchase, I always go for the “Free & Clear” option.
What you can count on with Seventh Generation products, is that they are natural. This particular product is USDA Certified Biobased. Don’t be alarmed with the brown paper when you open the box! It is unbleached paper that is covered in the plant based softener. I love how you can use the whole sheet for a large load or split in half for a smaller load.
The products are clinically tested to be hypoallergenic and gentle on our skin. Seventh Generation never tests products on animals. They create cruelty free products.
Interesting fact from the box: “If every household in the U.S. replaced just one box of polyester fabric softener sheets with our paper sheets, and composted after use, we could prevent 7,400 tons of solid waste from entering our landfills, equivalent to 780 garbage trucks”. That will blow your mind! They are always doing good for the environment.
